THE END OF BASIC TRAINING

Graduation marks the end of a recruits time in Bootcamp. It is his final dismissal and the culmination of public ceremonies. The graduation ceremony includes the graduating Marines, their Drill Instructors and other key training personnel.

The distinguished personnel present are the Depot's Brigadier General, Angela Salinas. The parade reviewing officer and the parade staff are all present. Highlighted performances include Marine Band San Diego and the Depot Mascot. An English Bulldog named, Molly.

Family Day Depot Shuttle stops

SHUTTLE TO BREAKFAST

The shuttle to breakfast can only be found at the Depot Theatre. The first shuttle to breakfast is at 6:30 AM. After 6:30 AM the shuttle makes round trips between the Bay View and the Theatre every 20 minutes.

PICKUP LOCATION

There is only one stop. The stop is at the Depot Theatre.

ROUTE

The route is a non-stop round trip. The shuttle route begins at the Theatre and ends at the Bay View Restaurant.

SHUTTLE TO LIBERTY LUNCH

The first shuttle to lunch can be found at the Depot Theatre. It's available right after Liberty Formation ends. The last shuttle to lunch leaves the Depot Theatre at 2:30 PM. The last shuttle leaving the Bay View is 4:00 PM. All shuttle service back to the Depot Theatre ends at 4:00 PM.

The shuttle makes stops every 20 minutes. All shuttle pickups begin at the Depot Theatre. There are three stops.

GRADUATION DAY

The shuttle to breakfast can only be found at the Depot Theatre and the Command Museum. The first shuttle to breakfast leaves the Depot Theatre at 6:30 AM. After 7:00 AM the shuttle makes round trips between the Depot Theatre and Command Museum every 20 minutes.

A beautiful dining option to relax and plan your day. Ask for the "Friday Bucks" coupons. The Bay View has vaulted to being a restaurant known for impecable service and a focus on fresh, local, seasonal ingredients.

DRILL INSTRUCTOR BRIEFING AND INFORMATIONAL BRIEFING

Informational Drill Instructor Briefing. This is the first graduation event you'll experience. Family and friends learn the "Do's and Dont's" for visitor's day. From this point forward, you'll be escorted by USMC Drill Instructors to the"Motivational Run" the next graduation event.

MOTIVATIONAL RUN

This is your first chance to see your new Recruit. It's also the last time he'll be together with his entire graduating company. To get the best photos remain in one place. The Recruits run in both directions. Left to right. Then, right to left. This way nobody misses that perfect photo opportunity.

WELCOME ORIENTATION

..| 11:30 AM ..| Depot Theatre

Includes a short movie about MCRD San Diego Bootcamp, L.I.N.K.S briefing, and further introductions to the Depot's Drill Instructors. Feel free at any time to say thank you to the D.I.'s for a job well done.

LIBERTY FORMATION

..| 12:30 PM ..| Parade Deck A.K.A Shepherd Filed

Witness this formation before visiting with your new Marine. You will be seated as close as possible to your Marine. The Drill Instructor's will direct you where to sit. While it may look far away, you'll actually be seated just yards from your Recruit. Please don't walk on the Parade Deck. It's hallowed ground.

LIBERTY ON THE DEPOT

..| 1:00 - 6:00 PM

New Marines enjoy well deserved time off from training to spend it with family and friends. From this point, new Marines are welcome to explore the Depot with family and friends. The Bay View Restaurant's "Liberty Lunch" is a favorite among new Marines and their families. A shuttle is available to take you to the restaurant.

LIBERTY LUNCH

..| 2:00 - 5:00 PM ..| Bay View Restaurant

Families and friends are invited to meet their new Marines Drill Instructor. You're encouraged to say hello, take pictures or just give a heart felt thanks for a job well done. The Bay View, set among palm trees and the spectacular waterfront of San Diego Bay, is known for its excellent food and fine service.

COLORS CEREMONY

..| 7:45 - 8:15 AM ..| In front of the Commanding General's Headquarters

Raising of the flags. Performances by the Marine Band and Color Guard. A wonderful option to begin Day 2 of the graduation events aboard MCRD San Diego. The General's building is opposite the Depot Theatre. On the other end of the Parade Deck. Look for the white turret.

GRADUATION CEREMONY

..| 10:00 - 11:30 AM ..| Parade Deck a.k.a. Shepherd Field

Please be seated by 9:45 AM. A day every Marine will remember as one of life's greatest achievements. Please don't walk on the Parade Deck. It's hallowed ground.

A beautiful dining option to relax and plan your day. New Marine Graduates eat lunch for free. Lunch is served from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
