Lodging on the Depot is also known as "Billeting". Reservations should be made 30 days in advance of your date of arrival. Lodging on the Depot is open to families during their new Marines graduation. The atmosphere is quiet, reserved and very safe. Think about it...What could be safer than being surrounded by battalions of Marines?

 

Billeting is within easy driving distance to all of San Diego's top attractions: SeaWorld and the San Diego Zoo are just ten minutes away. The airport, AmTrack station and the Grey Hound bus station are just five minutes away.

 

The best part about staying on the Depot is you'll be about 200 yards from where your new Marine will be sleeping.

 

THE MISSION

The Mission of MCRD San Diego's Billeting and Housing is to provide the best quality of life possible for single Marines by maintianing comfortably furnished bachelor enlisted quarters that are well maintained. Additionally, transient lodging services are provided similar to a quality hotel or motel for the following types of guests:

  • Active duty military and DoD civilains on temporary duty orders
  • Active duty military and their families on PCS orders
  • Guests of the Commanding General
  • Active and retired military on a space available basis
  • Families of graduating Marines

 

ROOMS AND RESERVATIONS

Lodging is very affordable, most rooms start around $33.00 per night. There are officers quarters here. Please call Billeting for exact pricing. Reservations can be made up to 30 days in advance of your new Marines graduation. Please has his social security number available when making your reservation.

 

While the lodging on the Depot is among the finest you'll find in the corps it's not the Four Seasons. You will be staying in quarters used to house Marines. You're room will be quiet, comfortable, extremely clean and have all the amenities you've come to expect: Cable T.V. fans, ironing boards and comfy beds. However, there are no hair dryers.

 

PETS

Pets are not allowed in Billeting per NAVMED P-5010-2 regulation.  Military working dogs and service dogs are the exception to this regulation.

 

THE MOST OFTEN ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: How can I make a reservation?


A: Persons on TAD orders can make reservations at any time. Space "A" reservations are taken no earlier than 30 days prior to date of arrival and are subject to bump for active duty on orders. Telephone the 24/7 Front Desk at 619.524.4401, DSN 619.524.4401.

 

Q: How much are the rooms?


A:

  • Single occupancy Enlisted Rooms with a shared bath are around $20.00 per night. 
  • Single occupancy Enlisted Rooms with a private bath are around $22.00 per night. 
  • An Enlisted Suite is around $30.00 per night. 
  • An Enlisted VIP Suite is around $35.00 per night.
  • A single occupancy Officer Room is around $25.00 per night
  • Officer Suites are around $30.00 per night.
  • Officer VIP Suites are around $45.00 per night. 
  • There is a $5.00 extra person charge for each additional person over the age of 12.

 

Q: Who can stay in transient quarters?


A:
Active duty military, DoD and civilian personnel on TAD orders, retired military, and families of graduating recruits from Wednesday - Saturday of graduation weeks only.

 

Q: Are you a temporary lodging facility?


A:
No, we are barracks, our primary mission is to provide the best quality of life possible for single Marines by maintaining comfortably furnished bachelor enlisted quarters that are well maintained. Additionally, transient lodging services are provided similar to a quality hotel or motel.

 

Q: What kind of rooms do you have?


A: Our enlisted rooms are multiple occupancy with two twin beds in each room and two rooms sharing a single bath. We have 7 enlisted suites (living room/bed room combination), 10 officer suites and two single occupancy officer rooms with a private bath.

 

Q: Where are you located?


A: We are located aboard the depot in Building 625, adjacent to Gate 4 and behind the Base Exchange. Our front desk is open 24/7 and can be contacted at 619.524.4401, DSN: 619.524.4401.
